Travel to Chitkul, the last inhabited village near the Indo–Tibetan border, continue to the serene lakeside village of Nako, and explore the historic monasteries of Tabo, Dhankar, and the majestic Key Monastery. Wander through the iconic high-altitude villages of Komik, Hikkim, and Langza, known for fossils, vibrant monasteries, and the world’s highest post office. End your journey in Kalpa, home to majestic views of the Kinner Kailash range.

Itinerary

Day 1Delhi to Shimla (Overnight Volvo)

Board your AC Volvo bus from Delhi to Shimla. Enjoy the overnight journey through scenic highways and mountainous curves as you ascend towards the Himalayas.

Day 2Arrival in Shimla → Transfer to Chitkul

Arrive in Shimla and meet your tour representative. Begin your picturesque drive towards Chitkul, the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibetan border.
Pass through Sarahan and Rampur Bushahr, enjoying changing landscapes — from dense forests to apple orchards and rugged high-altitude terrain.
Upon reaching Chitkul, enjoy a meal at the famous “Hindustan Ka Akhri Dhaba” before checking in to your homestay for the night.

Day 3Chitkul → Nako (Indo-Tibet Highway)

Post breakfast, drive towards Nako, a serene village near the Indo-China border.
Witness the dramatic confluence of the Satluj and Spiti rivers at Khab Bridge.
Check in and begin exploring:

  • Visit the peaceful Nako Monastery

  • Spend your evening by the quiet Nako Lake, surrounded by majestic peaks
    Overnight stay in Nako.

Day 4Nako → Kaza via Gue Mummy & Tabo Monastery

Depart for Kaza, the administrative centre of Spiti Valley. En route, visit:

  • Gue Monastery — home to a naturally preserved 500-year-old mummy

  • Tabo Monastery — the “Ajanta of the Himalayas

Continue towards the Pin Valley National Park, home to rare Himalayan wildlife like the Snow Leopard.
Reach Kaza by evening and check in for an overnight stay.

Day 5Kaza Sightseeing (High Altitude Villages Circuit)

Explore Spiti’s most iconic high-altitude villages:

  • Komik — Asia’s highest motorable village

  • Hikkim — send postcards from the world’s highest post office

  • Langza — known for ancient marine fossils and the Buddha statue

Continue to the stunning Key Monastery, followed by a visit to Kibber Village and the engineering marvel Chicham Bridge.
Return to Kaza for an overnight stay.

Day 6Kaza → Dhankar → Kalpa

Drive back towards Kalpa. Visit the ancient Dhankar Monastery, beautifully perched on a cliff overlooking the valley.
Pass through Powari and ascend towards ReoKong Peo, before finally reaching Kalpa.
Admire breathtaking views of the Kinner Kailash range and settle in at your camp/homestay.

Day 7Kalpa → Shimla → Delhi Departure

Check out and drive back towards Shimla through lush forests and alongside the Satluj River.
Get dropped at Shimla Bus Stand for your overnight Volvo bus back to Delhi — carrying unforgettable memories of the majestic Spiti Valley.
